Jamal (Jussie Smollet) , Akeem (Bryshere Grey) and Andre (Trai Byers) look Dashing on the cover of may issue of Essence magazine.
The Sons of Cookie and luscious graced the magazine cover in an all white look.
Andre Lyon: Played by Trai Byer. He is the first son of luscious and cookie. He is well educated and business smart but unlike his two brothers, he is not talented. this is a source of worry for him as he thinks that if he were to be talented, his father might favour him more. He suffers from Bipolar disorder and he is married to a white girl who is manipulative and dubious.
Jamal Lyon: Pkayed by Jussie Smollet: He is the middle child and also the black sheep of the family. He is gay and in the beginning of the series, he was living with his partner. His Father Luscious does not support his being gay which leads to a lot of clashes between them. Jamal is talented and considered the most talented Lyon. In the beginning of the series, he came across as too soft but towards the end of Season 1, we discovered he was truly a Lyon. Many will argue that he is the favourite child of their mother "cookie"
Akeem Lyon: Played by Bryshere Y Grey a.k.a. Yazz. He is the Lastborn of the house. He is the favourite child of his father Luscious. He is a talented Hiphop artiste. He can be very spoilt but he is also very sweet. Like his two bothers, he wants to take over Empire.
Tv mama to the boys Taraji P Henson was so proud she took to instagram to post the cover of all her cute sons saying " ShineBabyShine" .. how sweet?
We cannot wait for Season two to kick off. Essence magazine may edition hits the stand on 15.05.2015
