All the details as Miss Colombia was wrongly crowned Miss Universe over Miss Philippines

The is one of those weird moments that come around once in a while. Miss Universe 2016 event was filled with lots of controversy as host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner! What are the chances of that happening given normal circumstances?. The world will  talk about this for a long time to come.

 Miss USA ( second runner up ) Colombia ( winner for few minutes before corrections were made) and Miss Philippines made the final three. But it was Miss Philippines and Miss Colombia who was caught in the controversy of the year.

As the ladies waited for an announcement to be made, Steve Harvey announced Miss Colombia as the winner thereby making Miss Philliphines the first runner up. All was good until he came back on stage and said.

"I have to apologize alerting Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez who stopped to give a stare at Harvey as she was previously blowing kisses to her fans and other contestants she had just beat to the miss universe crown. Steve Harvey went ahead to announced the winner to a shocked crowd but none was as shocked as Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbachwho had clearly accepted as fate as the first runner up.

It took the urging of Miss USA who nudged her forward to make he walk back to the center stage to reclaim her crown.

In an unsurprising development, the president of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos has reacted to the miss Universe blunder calliing Miss Colombia the Queen. He said;

"Our queen was marvelous. She looked spectacular. It was such a disappointment when the host said he'd made a mistake," he told Radio Nacional.

"I was watching Miss Universe with my family. We started a huge celebration when they said Colombia had won the Miss Universe title for the second straight year,"

"To me, our queen is and will remain Miss Universe. They put the crown on her head. The photos are there to prove it. To me, as a Colombian, she is still Miss Universe" he concluded.
