The blade runner Oscar Pistorius has been treated for injuries her sustained in jail. AFP reports that , he was taken to a private hospital and later returned to jail, prison officials have revealed, and an investigation is underway. Singabakho Nxumalo, a spokesman for the correctional services department, said that Pistorius told officials that he suffered injuries after falling out of bed.
CNN also reported that a prison service spokesman said the injuries were "minor" and that he had been returned to prison after Saturday's incident.
Pistorius denied he had tried to kill himself, the spokesman said.
Last month, prosecutors said his six-year jail sentence for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013 was too lenient and they would appeal.
