EFCC urged pro-Patience Jonathan protesters to be patient.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, continue to urge the public to show some confidence in the ability of the court to handle the case of Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

This clarification was made by South East Zonal Head of the EFCC, Mr. Johnson Babalola, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, while addressing a group of protesters at the Commissions Zonal office in Enugu in support of the former first lady.

The Zonal head told the protesters that though everyone has a right to air their views in a democracy; he nevertheless, urged them not to allow their peaceful protest to escalate into a violent rampage that could snowball into loss of lives or properties.

Mr. Babalola also informed the group and by extension, Nigerians that the case involving Dame Patience Jonathan, is out of the hands of the Commission and now in the hands of the Judiciary as the case is presently in court and not a matter for EFCC to decide which direction it goes or what happens. He also assured the group that the EFCC is not after Mrs. Jonathan, but rather, it was investigation activities that led to her.
