VP Osibanjo receives General Thomas D. Waldhauser, Commander of the US-Africa Command and the American Ambassador in Nigeria, Honorable W. Stuart Symington at the Aso Villa.

Vice President Yemi Osibanjo recently had the pleasure of receiving General Thomas D. Waldhauser, Commander of the US-Africa Command and the American Ambassador in Nigeria, Honorable W. Stuart Symington at the Aso Villa.

Speaking about the meeting, the Vice President said;
Nigeria’s relationship with the USA is a very important one and we are appreciative of the support, we have received over the last few years. Now more than ever, our countries must deepen the long-standing relationship so that each of our nations can benefit tremendously.
Nigeria has been engaged in warfare against terrorists. The sheer brutality and mindlessness of terrorists who are prepared to kill children while they sleep, abduct girls, prepare to die, use teenage girls as suicide bombers are some of the ways this has been unprecedented for our military.
There are still a few splinter groups but President Buhari’s administration aims to end this as quickly as possible.
At our meeting, General Waldhauser expressed the readiness of the US government to accelerate its contributions to the war on terrorism. Together, Nigeria will prevail.
