The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today, July 3, 2017, arraigned one Adewole Lukman Olaniyan before Justice O.H. Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court Ikeja, on a one-count charge bordering on making false statement to public officer, contrary to Section 96 (a) criminal law of Lagos, 2011.Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter to October 26, 2017 for trial and remand the defendant in maximum Kirikiri prison.
Adewole had entered and stood as a surety for one Segun Akintayo on January 12, 2016, at EFCC office and had promised to always produce the suspect whenever they need him. However, the defendant failed to produce the suspect.
