Why would the Senate reject the Gender Equality bill. what are they scared of? See Nigerians reaction.

The Nigerian Senate has rejected a bill for Gender Equality and Nigerians are stunned. Whether the Senate accept it or not. All human beings are equal and we should all have easy and hinder free access to the good things of life. Discrimination  on the grounds of sex is not acceptable.

Now while, I do not know the content of the bill and what those pushing for it are suggesting, there is no grounds under which gender equality could be a bad thing or a threat to this country. Men will be men, Women will be women and our physical and emotional difference will set us apart.

I put it to you however, that for this country to move forward and develop, the strength of both sexes must be harnessed. Perhaps, it is why Nigeria is still so far behind? We have failed to see the role women can play in nation building.
