Nigerian arrested in India for selling ‘seeds that cure AIDS’

Uzoma Eleazar and three others have been arrested for cheating a local, Anil Mathur, of nearly N10m in an online scam, Asianage reports. He had offered him a dealership of special seeds grown only in Nigeria, which he claimed to have medicinal benefits in curing cough, and even AIDS.

The seeds were, however, nothing but ‘bitter kola’ seeds. Eleazar and his Indian agents Taufiq Hussain, Fazal Ahmed Syed and Yogesh Kumar Patil, have been arrested. 10 mobile hand sets used to call Mathur, 3 laptops, Rs 4.2 lakh ( about N1.9m ) cash, and a host of packets of the seeds, all pictured above, were seized from him.

Eleazar sold 400-gram packets of the seeds for more than N400,000, which in Nigeria is sold at just N4,400 per kg.
