Azealia Banks, the troublesome celeb we all think we cannot stand took a shot at Refinery29, after the news site made a post about her. Actually, they tried to praise her calling her relateable after she posted about her period, but she saw right through and realized it was a shade.
I'm always relatable. I express and share lots of my feelings with the public often leaving myself vulnerable and open to attack. But it is finally nice to see a headline that isn't an attack on my character or intelligence. Having emotional disorders or mental disorders DOES NOT make one a bad person.
It does not make ME a bad person. I'm very very young and have spent the last five years of my life in the public eye. I am human and am learning about this thing called life in real-time with the rest of all of you humans. Let's try and practice what we preach!
For every time you jump at me demanding that I behave a certain way, let's try and give me some of the same empathy and tolerance.
Realize that my art is how I heal myself. Shutting out my art, not paying attention to my lyrics, or pretending as if I haven't made my musical accomplishments does nothing to help you understand me. ITS BEEN IN THE MUSIC. I've been writing songs about depression, pain, drug abuse, loneliness, abandonment, growing up without a father, GOD, etc but the public chooses to ignore it.
