Rapper Prodigy from Mobb Deep is dead.

New York rapper Prodigy, who was a member of the rap due Mobb Deep is dead. According to reports, he died from complications from sickle cell anemia. 

His publicist says he was hospitalized "a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis. As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth." TMZ reports.

The publicist added ... "the exact cause of death has not been determined."

Rapper Nas took to his social media page to pay his tribute.
