So the last 24 hours has been crazy but thank God I am still here. The fuel and electricity situation has put everyone in a tight corner. Nepa is on strike and the fuel queues are long if you can find a station that is selling.
I am tired of this country man! There is no reason why a country like Nigeria rich in resources can be going through things like this. It has been years after independence but still the country is not even better. Yet, there are people who believe the white men are responsible for our downfall since they exploited Africa and carted away all our resources.
Isn't it high time we stop exploiting ourselves as well? In Nigeria's case, 56 whole years after independence and we still have no clue as to where this country is going (I am not even putting any blame on this or any government)
You see, while in school, one of the books I had to study was Walter Roodney's "How Europe underdeveloped Africa" and the book had me rolling my eyes tirelessly. How about how Africans are under developing Africa? The Abacha's, Dasuki's , Diezani's and the numerous politicians that have looted our fortune to this same Europe as well as other parts of the world are not Europeans.
I am tired. There needs to be a change even in this government whose whole campaign was anchored on change. There is no room for a "Swegbe type of government anymore". People are dying, people are suffering , people are jobless but yet we all have to bear.
Who exactly is bearing? The poor man who has to pay double the price for everything from bus fare to food or the rich man who has looted so much that they can afford anything including flying their whole family out of the country to escape the mess they have caused.
God is watching and so is Karma. You thieves steal so much without mercy and you wont even let us have basic amenities. Our daughters have now turned to runs while our sons are busy with internet scam. Yet you provide all the luxuries of this world to your sons and daughters which they show off on social media to make us feel even worse.
I speak for those who are not fortunate enough to even take care of their basic need. I feel the pain of this country so much that I wonder how people who do not have decent jobs or source of income cope. Today, I have seen the looks on the faces of people and I wept in my heart.
I may not know it all but you thieves will pay one way or the other for what you do to our beloved "Nigeria".
ON A LIGHTER NOTE;
Today, I decided to wear my club's Jersey and the experience has been very funny. Dear Nigerian's, when you see someone wearing their club's jersey, it does not necessarily mean they want you to hail them.
I kept hearing up gunners all day...Abeg make una leave me o.... Na fuel I need.
But it was great to see that people were still in the mood to be friendly.!
Nigeria go better!
